Bring a Book Instead of a Card Wording

A bring a book instead of a card baby shower is very popular, and has its own little poems. Baby shower invitation inserts are usually printed on a separate card, which will be included WITH your baby shower invitation. Bring a book instead of a card poems can also be included on your baby shower invitation.

OPTIONAL: When you create your baby shower registry, let people know that when they’re attending your baby shower, you would prefer them to bring a book, instead of a card. This should hopefully guarantee that you fill up baby’s library.

Skip the card for a book instead. We want our baby to be well-read.

baby shower greetings book theme

So instead of a card, to baby and mother. Please give a book, with your thoughts in the cover.

In lieu of a card, please bring your favorite childhood classic. Let’s build a library for (baby’s name). That will be fantastic!

One small request that won’t be too hard, please bring a book instead of a card. Whether Cat in the Hat or Winnie the Pooh, you can sign the inside cover with a note from you. (Baby’s name) will become very smart indeed. If we begin early, he’ll/she’ll soon love to read!

Although cards are nice and read once or twice – A book is a treasure forever and ever. So instead of a card to be put aside, please give a book with your name inside. Choose one of your favorite stories or tales, that you would like Baby Johnson to hear.

Just one last request and we hope it’s not hard. Please bring baby a book in place of a card. By signing your book we will remember and share… Your special gift, even when you’re not there.

Although cards are nice, with their sentiment and prayer, they’re read once or twice, then tucked away with care.  A book is a treasure, with words and pictures that unite. To read over and over, night after night.

Your book will be cherished, God will watch from above. When we read we’ll remember, your kindness and love.

Please skip the card and instead help us fill our baby’s shelves with all the “friends” [he/she] needs. “There is no friend as loyal as book.” —Ernest Hemingway

Help build baby’s library by writing your well-wishes in a favorite children’s book instead of a greeting card.

If you plan to bring a card, please take another look. I would like to learn my ABC’s from your favorite storybook.  Please add your name and a note then I’ll know you’ve done your part. Someday I’ll surely thank you from the bottom of my little heart.

or a slightly different version

As smart as I can be, that is why I’m hoping my mom will read to me. If you plan to bring a card, please take another look. I would like to learn my ABC’s from your favorite storybook. Please sign your name as your personal touch. My mommy and I thank you very, very much.

Baby Johnson already has all that he needs, but books are always welcome for Mom and Dad to read. So just bring your favorite fairytale or storybook, and help create the baby’s special reading nook. [This one is perfect for a 2nd or 3rd baby. See more examples under “Baby Sprinkle”]

A card is something very nice but maybe read just once or twice. So instead, think of sharing a book, you see, ad mommy and daddy will read it to me. Please sign your name and add a note too, so I know that the book has come from you. I’m tiny now – just a sweet little tot, but someday I’ll thank you with all my heart.

When the first one arrives, there are showers of blessings… from furniture to toys, and clothes for each dressings! But what do you do with baby number two? The toys are still good and the crib’s almost new! But the diapers are gone and so are the wipes. With a display shower, you are asking guests NOT to wrap gifts. Instead, gifts will be displayed. Baby shower invitation inserts like these are normally printed on a separate card and included in your invitation envelope.

You’re invited to a shower for a lucky mom-to-be. Please bring your gift unwrapped, to be displayed for all to see.

Your thoughtful gift will be put on display, so no need to wrap in any way. A ribbon or twine will do just fine, leaving Amy free to visit and dine!

Traditions are changing and showers are too, so here’s an idea we’re hoping you do… Bring your gift without paper or a bag. Simply use a bow and a pretty gift tag. An unwrapped present is just as sweet, and will save more time to mingle and eat. We’ll display your gifts for all to see, then relax and honor the mommy-to-be.

Twice the joy, twice the love, twice the blessing from above! [For twins]

Your book will be cherished, God will watch from above. When we read we’ll remember, your kindness and love. [This would also fit the “bring a book instead of a card” theme.]

Twinkle, twinkle, tiny light. Little eyes that shine so bright. A precious baby from heaven above, to fill our hearts with so much love.

The Lord has blessed us with a new child. Please help us celebrate this joyous occasion.

For this child, she has prayed.
