In just a blink of an eye, it’s already the holidays! That means it’s time to give, love, and share creative Christmas cards.

Gone are the days of buying Hallmark cards and making your loved ones feel like an afterthought. Instead, make them feel special with a beautiful Christmas card.

And it doesn’t even have to take all day, either! You can easily add a hint of uniqueness to your card with a few tweaks.

Below are a few easy and cute ideas on how you can make your Christmas cards extra special this year.

Creative Christmas Cards They’ll Never Forget

  1. Make Your Own Creative Christmas Cards

A quick google search will reveal the endless ideas of homemade Christmas cards you can create, like a paper wreath card, scrapbook paper Christmas tree cards, washi tape Christmas tree cards, paint chip cards, etc.

  1. Add A Special Gift

Most of us assume a Christmas card, is a Christmas card. Surprise a loved one by adding in a little something extra, like a gift card to his/her favorite restaurant, a gift certificate, a personalized locket, an airline ticket, an itinerary for a planned trip, etc.   As long as it is flat(ish) and can fit into your envelope, you can add anything.

  1. Decorate The Envelope

The Christmas card envelope sets the tone for what’s inside, so make it special too. Here are a few ideas:

  • Stamp it, paint it, decorate it, cut and paste paper designs on it, etc;
  • Make your envelope look like a traditional Christmas gift tag, complete with “To” and “From”;
  • Use markers or metallic gel pens to add decorative elements like snowflakes or stars;
  • Use brush markers or calligraphy pens to hand letter your envelopes;
  • If you are pairing the card with a gift, try to find gift wrap that coordinates with the card and the envelope;
  • Write a special Christmas message on it, like “Merry Christmas” or “To my favorite person.”

Small details like these do not go unnoticed.

  1. Add Something Special

Make the experience of receiving a Christmas card that much sweeter by adding a little something special. A few ideas you could consider:

  • a memorable photograph of you and the receiver—memories are among the things money can’t buy, so they are often more appreciated;
  • add a special drawing that will enhance the value;
  • add a special poem that you know the receiver will appreciate;
  • a receipt, a ticket, or pamphlet of something special you shared.
  1. Sprinkle In A Surprise

Depending on how messy you want to get, you could add sprinkles, glitter, or confetti into your envelope.

  1. Make Your Creative Christmas Cards Heartfelt And Personal

Most people send out multiple holiday cards every year. Therefore, no one expects to get a card with a lengthy, heartfelt, personal message.

Use your creative Christmas card as your opportunity to go above and beyond what is expected. Let the receiver know how much you care by writing a special message. They will appreciate that you took the time to fill the card with meaningful words.

Note From The Author

We don’t always need to give extravagant gifts. Sometimes, it’s the simple things that can place genuine smiles on our faces. Acts and gestures from the heart are what truly warms us during the festive season.
